Antique is a thin strip between the sea and the Central Panay mountain range. Capiz opens onto the Sibuyan Sea with wide low ground and rivers. Two very different hazard pictures on the same island. Here is what to screen for each.
Panay gets discussed as one island, but a buyer in Antique and a buyer in Capiz are looking at almost opposite problems. One province is squeezed between mountains and the sea. The other is wide, low, and open to the water.
Antique runs along the western side of Panay as a narrow coastal strip with the Central Panay mountain range immediately behind it. In many towns the usable land between the beach and the rising ground is thin. That geometry produces two hazards at once, and they arrive from opposite directions.
